Job Description:

The Landscape Irrigation Specialist will be responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems and outdoor landscapes. They will collaborate closely with our landscape designers, project managers, and maintenance team to ensure efficient water management and the health and beauty of our clients' landscapes.

  1. Design irrigation systems tailored to the specific needs of each landscape, taking into account factors such as plant types, soil composition, sun exposure, and local climate conditions.

  2. Install and configure irrigation components, including pipes, valves, controllers, sprinkler heads, drip emitters, and moisture sensors, according to design specifications and industry best practices.

  3. Conduct regular inspections of irrigation systems to identify leaks, clogs, malfunctions, and other issues affecting performance and efficiency.

  4. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as adjusting sprinkler heads, cleaning filters, replacing worn-out parts, and programming irrigation controllers.

  5. Troubleshoot and repair irrigation system problems in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and water waste.

  6. Monitor water usage and implement water conservation strategies, such as scheduling irrigation based on weather conditions, optimizing distribution uniformity, and recommending efficient irrigation technologies.

  7. Collaborate with landscape crews to coordinate irrigation installations with other landscaping activities, ensuring proper integration and minimal disruption to the landscape.

  8. Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project, and communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members.

  9. Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and technological advancements related to landscape irrigation, and participate in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

  10. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

  11. Assist in the implementation of landscape designs by planting trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation according to design plans and specifications.

  12. Install hardscape elements such as walkways, patios, retaining walls, and decorative features using various materials including stone, brick, and concrete.

  13. Prepare soil beds, grade terrain, and apply mulch, gravel, or other ground covers to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of landscapes.

  14. Operate and maintain landscape equipment and tools, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and safely operated.

  15. Perform routine landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing to keep landscapes looking neat, healthy, and vibrant.

  16. Assist with irrigation system installation, repair, and maintenance as needed, ensuring proper watering and drainage for plant health and sustainability.

  17. Collaborate with landscape designers, project managers, and fellow team members to coordinate workflow, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.

  18. Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each project, and communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members.

  19. Stay informed about industry trends, new products, and technological advancements related to landscape irrigation, and participate in training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

  20. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries, and promote a culture of safety within the organization.

  21. During Winter season assist with random duties

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in interpreting landscape plans and irrigation drawings.

  • Strong knowledge of irrigation system components, equipment, and materials.

  • Familiarity with irrigation system software and controllers.

  • Ability to operate irrigation equipment and tools safely and effectively.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • Irrigation Association certification (preferred).

  • Bilingual proficiency (preferred, if applicable).
