Irrigation Inspector
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Irrigation Inspector to join our team. The Irrigation Inspector will be responsible for conducting inspections of irrigation systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, identifying deficiencies, and providing recommendations for improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of irrigation systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Conduct inspections of irrigation systems in residential, commercial, and agricultural settings to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Evaluate irrigation systems for proper design, installation, operation, and maintenance.
Identify deficiencies in irrigation systems, including leaks, blockages, and improper equipment operation.
Document inspection findings, including photographs, measurements, and detailed descriptions of deficiencies.
Provide recommendations for corrective actions and improvements to address identified deficiencies.
Communicate inspection findings and recommendations to property owners, contractors, and other stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
Collaborate with Sales to make recommendations.
Stay informed about changes in irrigation technology, regulations, and best practices through continuing education and professional development.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and recommendations using computer software or other tools as required.
Assist in the development and implementation of irrigation system maintenance programs and educational outreach efforts to promote water conservation and efficiency.
Assist in day-to-day operations when no inspections are being performed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in agriculture, environmental science, engineering, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, or inspection is required.
Strong knowledge of irrigation system components, including pipes, valves, pumps, controllers, and sprinklers.
Familiarity with irrigation system design principles, hydraulic calculations, and water distribution techniques.
Understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to irrigation system design, installation, and operation.
Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical audiences.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using computer software for documenting inspections and generating reports.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required; occasional travel within the region may be necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to walk, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights as needed to inspect irrigation system components.
